Melissa's house

Sunday, August 31, 2008

Last night Paul, Melissa and I went over to Aunt Maggie's ( Paul's sisters). She had bought Melissa a used playhouse. We are going to keep it over at Aunt Maggie's because she has a big back yard and plus it gives Melissa something to play with.

Melissa loved the house. She went right on in and didn't want to come out. We need to find her some other things to go in the house.

It's in our DNA!

I took Melissa to Toys R Us last week. She had received a gift card from there. We walked around for about an hour playing with different toys. I could not decide on a toy. She loved everything she played with. As we are getting ready to check out, I saw the purse. I thought to myself every little girl needs a purse. Well Melissa got an Elmo Purse. Inside the purse is a comb, wallet, cell phone, lipstick, keys and a mirror. All of this is plastic.

I didn't know if she would even like this, but oh well it was a gift. Melissa loves the purse. It didn't take her long to figure out what to do with all the items. She even knows that the lipstick is for your lips. She will come up to me and put lipstick on me. It must be in our DNA! I told her that now that she has a purse she can go shopping. She went in to her room and got her shopping cart. It was so funny!

I love this purse!

I'm ready to go shopping!

Dancing Queen!

I love it when babies/toddlers try to dance. Turn on the music and Melissa is shaking her hips and trying to dance. I love this video!

Fun Day at the Water Park

Saturday, August 16, 2008

Down the street from us is a new water park. When we drive by I always say "we need to take Melissa there". We finally did and she had a blast. The baby area didn't have a whole lot, but Melissa didn't care, she was having fun. Paul took her over to the bigger kiddie area and she loved the slide. Melissa cried when we left the park, she didn't want to go home and eat dinner. I guess we will have to go back soon. The water park will close on September 2nd for the winter.

Our Bible Study class meet up for our monthly class social. We had a great time at Kart-Trax in Lewisville . We left Melissa at home with Aunt Maggie. It sounds like they also had a good time.
We had fun on the Go Karts and playing Glow in the dark 3D Golf.

Since we have moved closer to Aunt Maggie Paul and I can go out on more dates!
Thanks Aunt Maggie for babysitting Melissa.

Having Fun!

Melissa loves being outside so our patio is great for her. She loves to play with her ball. Melissa got a cool bubble maker for her birthday and she loves how the bubble maker makes big bubbles.

We also have a nice park down the street from us so we tookMelissa to swing and slide down the BIG slide. Melissa is growing up so fast. It's hard to believe she can go down the slide by herself.

Happy Birthday Aunt Laura

On Thursday, August 7, 2008 we celebrate our Aunt's Birthday! Cousin Jana and Jamie also join in the celebration. Aunt Laura we hope you had a great birthday we love you.

Friendship Dinner

I'm so behind on the blog, that this post is about two weeks old.

The women's ministry at Prestonwood had a Friendship Dinner on August 5, 2008. Some of the ladies in my bible study class hosted a table. It was a fun night with the ladies. We had a great meal, nice visit and the best part was the special guest they had for us.

Lisa Smith, a young woman with Down syndrome who passionately shares God’s message of hope through the gift of signing. She was amazing!

Featured speaker Thelma Wells, formerly of Women of Faith, spoke about her life trials and blessings, tackling the question: “What do you do when you don’t know what to do?”

Thelma was also amazing, she has been through it all and it gives you hope.

Here are some pictures from that night.

Future Shopper!

Melissa received this shopping cart for her birthday. I wanted to wait until we moved to put it together for her. I didn't know what she would do with it, but as you can see from the video she knows what to do. She didn't put the teddy bear in the cart, I did that.

Summer Fun!

I found the cord to the camera so here are some pictures and video of Melissa.

I bought Melissa a kiddie pool and a slide. Melissa loves our new patio so I thought well it's shaded so she can play in the pool and give her something to do. I also found a little tikes slide for $10 and it has been the best $10 I spent in a long time. She loves it!

Enjoy!

Melissa and Kaelyn

Thursday, August 7, 2008

Melissa and I went over to our friends Lena and Kaelyn for a play date. We had a good time. The girls played more this time then they have ever played. Here is a funny but sweet video of the girls at lunch. They are having their own conversation. You can hear Lena and I laughing. Thanks Lena and Kaelyn for having us over!

I have more to share with you, but still can't find the cord to the camera. I have 4 more boxes to unpack and I bet it's in one of them.
